Too Little Too Late

“I wrote and recorded the basis of this song on a 4-track in a bedroom in the apartment with my late son in his crib…  It seemed like super cheese whiz to me… Yet……the guitar lines just drifted off my fingers in a single take and the words just flowed out of me without thought… Years later, an engineer was surfing through old tape transfers to Pro Tools and thought he had found the Holy Grail! With some strong persistence, I agreed to see what we could do with the recording… This was the beginning of the album, as a bird of the air…

It’s over, it’s all behind me now
Still I can see tomorrow, somehow
There’s a storm in the sky that will never subside
Once I put aside your ring, I was blind to everything

Too little too late, she’s gone, she said so long
Our thing is ending
How could I let it end my closest friend is gone
There is no reason to believe that there is more between us
Too little too late she said, she’s gone away for good

It’s over, it’s all been said and done
I pretend to make amends when I’m the only one
There is nothing left for me except memories
Oh if I could just have you back I would show you that I know that

Too little too late she said, my tears are shed
I’ve thought it over
I have a love to give, a love to give another
There is no reason to believe in someone who neglects you
Too little too late she said, my love is for another

Lost in time, lost my mind
If she would come back to me I would make it right

Too little too late she said, my tears are shed
I’ve thought it over
Too little too late she said, my love is for another
There is no reason to believe in someone who neglects you
Too little too late she said, she’s gone away for good
